Call for Papers Talk Ideas
This year we have a three day schedule on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We have 6 workshop slots open this year, 2 master class workshops (2 days, Thursday + Friday), 2 deep dive workshops (1 day, Friday) and 2 taster workshops (1/2 day, Friday afternoon). We will also have the standard 50 min talk slots on the Saturday
PHP Yorkshire is not limited to just PHP-related talks. There have been sessions covering a wide range of topics supporting PHP developers and DevOps as well, and we encourage you to "think outside the box" to come up with your own unique topics and ideas, however due to financial constraints we may not be able to offer a speaker package to more than one speaker per slot.
It is advisable to submit a few talk ideas, not just one. By submitting a single talk you may lessen your chances of being selected.
To get the ideas flowing, here's a few suggestions:
- General PHP
- Building APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.)
- Framework-related topics
- WordPress/Drupal etc. for PHP developers
- Development principles (Data structures, compilers, etc.)
- Mobile-first design
- Testing (unit, functional, etc.)
- Version control
- User Experience/Usability
- Professional development
